inVISIBLE | a juried show

In recognition of World Mental Health Day on October 10, 2019, UCare hosts a pop-up exhibition in partnership with CIRCA Gallery to spread awareness of issues and support opportunities related to mental wellness. 

This exhibition highlights the connection between mental health, art, and social change in Minnesota. inVISIBLE strives to increase the visibility of these common issues in our community by providing a space that normalizes conversation about mental health.

Anyone in Minnesota is welcome to apply, however, applicants who live further away from Minneapolis must note the timeline of the exhibition to ensure that work is delivered in time for the show. We look forward to seeing your interpretations of this theme!

Deadline for submissions: September 21, 2019

Send the following in an email with the subject line "Open Call" to

  • 1-5 images of the piece(s) you’re submitting, 1000 pixels in the longest dimension and 72dpi

  • Image list with title, year, dimension, and medium (number pieces to correspond with file name of artwork)

  • Artist statement, no more than 1 page

  • CV or résumé, no more than 1 page

Applicants will be notified by Friday, September 27
Drop off accepted artwork October 3-5, during regular gallery hours
Opening reception: Thursday, October 10, 5:00pm-7:30pm
Pop-up exhibition dates: October 10-12, 2019
Pick up artwork between October 15 and 19, during regular gallery hours

For nearly 30 years, CIRCA has provided the Twin Cities community with art from local, national, and international contemporary artists. We believe that having original art in life – whether at home, in the office, or at a gallery – significantly impacts a person’s disposition, productivity, and outlook.
